The Carolinas Bass Challenge - “Road to the Bassmasters Classic”

The 2016  BASSMASTER Team Championship will be held Nov 30th -  Dec 3rd, 2016 on Kentucky Lake, Paris, TN.  Top anglers from participating team tournament trails across the country will have a chance to win a national team title and a berth in the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro.

The Henry County Alliance will host the championship at Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tenn. The daily takeoffs and weigh-ins will be held at Paris Landing State Park. Takeoffs will be at 6:45 a.m. ET, and weigh-ins will be at 2:45 p.m. ET each day.

Championship Format

The four-day tournament will qualify one angler for the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic. The top two-angler team will also be crowned as the national champion of the event.
 
The team portion of the competition, Nov. 30-Dec. 1, pits the two-angler teams against one another to determine the national team champion. On Dec. 2-3, the six anglers from the Top 3 teams will compete individually in the Bassmaster Team Championship Classic Fish-Off. The winner of the individual competition earns a bid to the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing” the following year.

Bassmaster Team Championship Payout

The Bassmaster Team Championship Tournament will pay back 80% of the entry Fees (plus tons of vendor/sponsor prizes) w/ the winning team ALSO winning a Nitro with a Mercury 150 Optimax.  The Overall Champion will win a berth in the 2017 Bassmaster Classic AND a Skeeter FX20 with a Yamaha VF250 SHO!!

*All Participants must have an active B.A.S.S. Team membership. (This Membership IS INCLUDED in your 2016 CBC Membership!!)  Your membership also will include a subscription to BASS Times.

*Team must fish a minimum of 3 CBC events to be considered "eligible" for the Bassmaster Team Championship.

*For every fifty CBC teams that are eligible - we will qualify one team to the Bassmaster Team Championship. Teams will qualify for “slots” in the following order (ultimate number of teams to advance will depend on the total number of eligible CBC teams that compete in the 2016 season)

Slots #1 & #2 – NC and SC Division Points Champions

Slot #3 (if applicable) – 2016 CBC Classic Champion

Slots #4 & #5 (if applicable) – *Second Place in Points from the NC Division or SC Division

Slots #6 & #7 (if applicable) – *Third Place in Points from the NC Division or SC Division

Slots #8 & #9 (if applicable) – *Fourth Place in Points from the NC Division or SC Division

Slots #10 & #11 (if applicable) – *Fifth Place in Points from the NC Division or SC Division

Slots #12 & #13 (if applicable) – *Sixth Place in Points from the NC Division or SC Division

Additional Slots will continue to be awarded in accordance w/ the final points standings per division.

*Whichever division has the higher per tournament average at the 5 qualifiers will be the first division to earn a slot (i.e. – if SC averages more teams per tournament than NC, Slot #4 will go to the SC Championship Winner and Slot #5 will go to NC Championship Winner – and the same will hold true through all awarded slots from there down).

Rules
Qualifying teams cannot change team members.
Teams must be made up of two (2) people. No single competitors are eligible.
Participants must be at least 16 years of age on the first competition day of the Bassmaster Team Championship.
Bassmaster Elite Series or FLW pros are restricted.

Bassmaster Team Championship Qualification 
The Bassmaster Team Championship will be held in late November / early December each year. 
Field Size: Based on 200 teams (boats) 
Event format: 2-day event; top overall weight wins. Top three (3) teams qualify for the Bassmaster Classic Qualifier 
Entry Fee: $500/team. (AC Tournaments to pay top qualifier entry)
Payout: Cash + Sponsor prizing TBD [Cash portion of at least 80% of entry fees]. Pay 40 places based on 200 boats. 

Bassmaster Team Classic Qualifier 
Top three (3) teams now become six (6) individuals fishing for a Bassmaster Classic berth. Competition will be on a body of water in close proximity or the same body of water as the Bassmaster Team Championship. The Classic Qualifier will be held the same week to minimize time and expense for the angler. 
Field Size: 6 
Event format: 2-day event. Fish out of sponsor provided boats; Top overall weight wins berth in 2016 Bassmaster Classic 
Entry Fee: None 
Payout: Champion wins the Bassmaster Classic berth; No cash prizing; Sponsor prizing TBD

Tournaments will be conducted by B.A.S.S. staff. Standard B.A.S.S. rules and random polygraph apply.
